Historic Warsaw | Private Walking Tour

Book a private walking tour of historic Warsaw. You will visit the Royal Route, the Old Town and the historical New Town. In this tour, we also cover aspects of Jewish heritage and the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.

We start the walking tour in front of the Copernicus Monument, at the beginning of the most beautiful section of the Royal Route in Warsaw. Your guide will not only show you the most important buildings along the main street, but will also lead you through small side streets, allowing you to see even more of the city. Along the way, the guide explains Warsaw’s history, culture, and unique character.

Royal Route Highlights

In the first part of the tour, you will visit the Holy Cross Church, where Frédéric Chopin’s heart is buried. You will also see the University of Warsaw campus and Piłsudski Square with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The walk continues past two of the city’s most luxurious hotels — the Bristol and the Europejski — both built in the 19th century. You will also pass the Presidential Palace and St. Anne’s Church.

Castle Square and the Old Town Panorama

This part of the tour ends at Castle Square. From here, you can enjoy beautiful views of the colorful Old Town and the Royal Castle, both carefully rebuilt after their destruction during World War II.

Royal Castle Courtyard and Gardens

After a short toilet break, the guide takes you into the courtyard of the Royal Castle and explains how it was reconstructed. You will then visit the lower castle gardens, offering a quieter and often overlooked perspective on one of Warsaw’s most important landmarks.

Old Town and New Town Walk

The next part of the tour leads through Warsaw’s Old Town and New Town. You will see the Old Town Market Square and the Barbican, a surviving section of the medieval city walls.

Warsaw Uprising Monument

The tour concludes at the Warsaw Uprising Monument — a powerful and moving reminder of the city’s tragic and heroic history during World War II.
